JFK to BOM nonstop on Business Class I have traveled on this route 4 times this year. This is a near perfect experience when compared to any American airline and all European carriers.
The non-stop travel allows for a meal, a restful nights sleep, 3-4 hours of work and you are there!
The seats and comfort are perfect as the bed is flat and bed linen is provided. A comfortable night suit change is also provided with the attendant taking your day clothes to a hanger.
The service is cheerful and ultra-attentive with cabin crew always available on call. They are always ASKING if you need anything, which is exaclty what makes all the difference.
The (Indian) food is great and somewhat excessive in quantity. Service is on bone china without the plastic and casserole tray experience that good carriers avoid. Cannot comment on the wine list.
They have in-seat power with a universal adapter. Bose noise canceling headsets are provided (!) : they are ultra careful in taking them back (to be expected). The entertainment system is a Panasonic on-demand system that is no yet perfect. Entertainment content needs to be updated more frequently with the sky-map being quite unsatisfactory in terms of information. An external nose-wheel camera is a fantastic experince during take-off and landing.
Check-in is a breeze and an arrival at the counters about an hour before departure worked just fine. At JFK there is a curb-side meet and greet, with escort to the check-in counter which are separate from the Economy class counters. Luggage is taken from you are curb-side! This is the best check-in expereince I have had in 20 years of flying to 50 countries in all types of global carriers.
This is quite the new AI. Can't disagree. |
