DO NOT FLY COPA if ontime arrival matters
We booked COPA's business class RT LAX to Rio December 17, 2010 returning Buenos Aires to LAX on January 5, 2011. Airline uses Panama as its hub and both legs included a stop & change of plane in Panama. Outbound was as booked. Upon boarding the return from BA we were informed the plane would make an unscheduled stop in Lima, Peru. This was entirely COPA's discretion; there were no mechanical or weather problems. Our flight to Panama arrived 2 hrs late and we missed our connection. The next available flights were the next day and none had business class seats available. They put us in coach and refused on the spot refund for the difference in the price of economy & business seats, saying to email them. We have sent all supporting documents twice with no response whatsoever, not even that they received them. |
