Poor Custoemr Service Looses Customers
Qatar Air customer service is controlling on the ground, non-informative when situations arise and totally useless if you are due a refund. A recent trip from Kuwait to London in December was interrupted by Heathrow closure. With a number of cancelled flights from Doha to Heathrow, we wondered why they allowed us to board for the short flight Kuwait to Doha. We were told upon arrival that the Doha to Heathrow flight had been delayed by 8 or more hours, and given a complimentary dinner voucher. After several hours in the airport, we were shuttle bused to baggage where we reclaimed our bags and then onto a hotel for the night. Through the evening and the next morning we attempted to gain re-booking information to no avail and ultimately turned to our corporate travel agent for assistance. After purchasing a separate ticket, we boarded a flight to Paris after which we made our way via train and ferry to London. We are frequent travelers and appreciate that snow can be an issue. What we do not appreciate is the lack of information from Qatar or assistance in re-booking. We are even more furious with the next six weeks of effort to pursue refund of our ticket segment price for the cancelled Doha to London segment. Qatar Air continues to show that the segment was flown but can no explain when (cancelled flights) or how we flew to Paris on a different QA ticket at the same time. As a 300K a year business flyer, I will make it a point to avoid further flights on Qatar and will strongly recommend the same to any of my colleagues. |
